Im looking for as much info on truck driving as you guys can give me. Im going to school in Michigan for firefighting (which I want to be my primary career), but seeing how ill only work about 2 or 3 days a week in that im trying to think of a secondary profession to have on the days off. Ive heard truck driving is good money (especially cross country driving). I enjoy traveling and being on the road, I have no wife or kids, only a dog which I assume could ride with me, and I just think it would be a good fit from the little bit I have heard. Ive even heard that companies will pay for your school if you work for them after? Any info and advice would be greatly appreciated

driving can be a very rewarding career ive driven for over 12 years these cos you are refering to will pay for your schooling but you wont be home 2-3 days a week to do youd other deal most of these cos get youin the seat and you wont see home for 2-3 weeks there are a lot of oppertunitys in driving a truck and you can make good money but you willalso sacrafice alot of time at home once you get some expeirience you can try for a local job a be home more its a lot different then traveling for vacation its long hours appointment times, traffic, bad weather, bad roads, and cops, alot of cos offer good pay and give good benifits but chose wisely

if you want to be a trucker and a firefighter then you should try local driving or statewide......cross country is a career by itself.......you should try schnieder trucking for long hauls and they will pay for schooling if you stay with them
