I already understand that it is a no-no to use them in fog, in snow, and in rain. I also know that they were designed for parked cars.
Here's the thing. I was driving my car and all of a sudden something went wrong and I couldn't go as fast. (I don't want to hear opinions about what went wrong.) So, since I could only go about 5-10 mph under the speed limit, I turned on my hazards until I got it home, which was less than a mile. I thought that this was the obvious thing to do, but I have heard strong criticism to the contrary. This was by no means a highway; I pulled into the right lane on my side, and there was no shoulder. What do you think?
