every one is right older cameras are film the newer ones or digital but there has been big issues with these and i know our council are not putting up new cameras the are using warning signs the speed camera was used by lots of local authority's as a revenue to pay for services so now there are less people getting caught by camera and it is not a victory people now less money coming in from speed bandits is going to cost us more as they need the money somewhere for services Dave

I used to for surrey police in the safety camera department like 2 months ago.SOME have gone digital but most over the country are still film, id say 90% have films in them and about 70%of those still have the ability to snap you. basicly just dont speed when you see a big yellow box on a stick.

Most speed cameras are digital now and they don't require any
films. They will go on and on until they break down mechanically
or electronically. However, they really last for a long time.
So, next time, if you're speeding and exceed the speed limits
on the highway, watch it and be careful!

Most new speed cameras are now digital and do not require film I think they now send images back to base via wireless phone connection or land line.
