The check engine light came on 3 times in our 99 Accord LX in the last month. First it was just the gas cap, then the evap canister and other parts were replaced and my mechanic thinks it's the PCM. This was his computer readout - code P1457. I then took it to the Honda dealer twice, once they said it was code P1457 but really P1456 (they replaced the evapconstant
shut valve and a new gas cap, although the car had a new after market gas cap) and a secondary code P0420 (catalytic converter below threshold), saying the catalytic converter needed replacing and the second time it was code P1457 - large evap leak - removed gas cap and reinstalled - system OK,
but still a secondary code P0420. I had the catalytic converter replaced by my local mechanic Monday and the check engine light came on again today (code P1457). AZ said it was the same code. All parts of the evap system have now been replaced. Where do I go from here? Is it the PCM?

Will a 90-91 honda crx engine/ b16 work in a 95 honda civic ex that had a d16 1.6. and if so will there need to be any changes??? Thanks

I service the transmission and still has the same problem
any ideas of how to fix this problem

Also, is there a recomended brand to use? It gets cold in the winter where I live and I have to walk through the yard down the hill to get to where I park my car so it would be very helpful.

alright thanks for the help but let me refraise my question. I know that the 3rd generation preludes (2.0 si)'s have B20A5 motors and that they sit 18 deg, firewall, and that their not exactly b series ect... what I want to know is if any of the other's fit (can a b16/b18 whatever just pop right in) OR do only the 20's work?

I know the difference between the different models and I know that at least some EX have Vtec, but I was wondering if all models came with it. If not, which EX years/models come with Vtec?

well as you can see i'm going to do a motor swap since my F22A6 (Accord Engine) blew up, i'm currently waiting for my F22B (JDM Prelude Engine) i was wondering if my automatic tranny will bolt on to the F22B motor.

Hi -- could someone please give me information on how much I should expect to pay for a water pump and to cleanse my coolant system (or something like that) or if it's something I really need to do. Or if I can get the water pump without the coolant system...
My car is running fine, just started making kind of a rough running sound a few weeks ago when it's idling.

i have a '90 prelude, it hasnt started without a boost since i bought it. just recently i changed the alternator, the battery is new, spark plugs were changed. i have no idea what the problem is. if anyone can help me out i will greatly appriciate it.

i'm bout to get a 89 prelude with a blow engin and i wanted to know if b16, 18 & or ect. would fit Or do i have to find another b20 series/ and if any one knows of any good sites to order body kits, carbon fiber lights, motors, and good cat backs 4 cheep. 92 honda accord wont start and my D on my dash keeps flashing. even when iam sitting in park i wait a few min with the car off and then it turns over and is ok - well all but the flashing D and it drives likes its lost alot of power when it does that please help....

I have changed the relay, switch, sensor, and therustat. Also i can short the wires going to the sensor, then the fan comes on. I changed radiator too. Fuse is good , what else do I need to look into? Please help!!
