Perhaps you have clogged defroster vents. Cigarette smoke film is another cause for alarm *in other words clean clean clean that windshield). Try this, set your defroster on high fan, turn the a/c on if equipped, and move the lever to "fresh", and high heat and if it doesnt clear then (after the heat is enough to drive you from the car), your problem lies in the vents (clogged) or controller (not operating properly) for the vents, or the film i mentioned earlier. You may even have a heater core problem, the symptom on that is a sweet antifreeze type smell in the car, hope that helps! :)

It's probably one of three culprits. First would be your airflow switch is set to recirculate. You would be amazed how much moisture is in your breathing. I had a lady come in once with a small Tracker and the water was literally dripping from the roof. Second possibility is the heater core, which takes about 6 or more hours for a good mechanic to replace. The last one is that your drain tubes, which allow condensation to escape from the vent system. They are also a bear to get to but if you have moisture trapped in the system it will turn to steam when you use the heater. Using the a/c does help dry out the air and most modern cars engage the a/c whenever the heater selector is set to defrost, even in the winter.

You have to have the outside air coming on. Both my 1991 accords wouldn't de-fog properly, then I switched the button to draw the inside air out and it cleared the winshield right up. It's not Honda that is the problem, it's the people driving them.
Also, to others...how many domestic cars have you seen lasting 10-15 years and still running strong? Yes, I've seen some old fords around, but they're in the junk yard or being used as scrap. I have a 1991 Accord with well over 300 000kms and have no problems.

it relatively is the Ignition Crontrol Module, it particularly is a hardship-unfastened project with hondas. sometimes the automobile will initiate wonderful and often the automobile in simple terms won't initiate. The Module is a silver field placed above the guidance column, at the back of the sprint. It expenses fifty 5 funds and easily takes approximately 10 minutes to alter.

I have the same problem with a 96 Accord... so put the setting on recycle inside the car air and turn on the AC even if you need to turn the temp dial to heat...the AC has a built in dehumidifier that takes the moisture out of the air and you can take the moisture out of the air inside the car (the moisture outside the car is Mother Nature's problem) and the windows clear quickly.

Maybe the vent is partially blocked, or the fan is about to go out, or the thermostat is going bad. Maybe it isn't fog at all, but a film of dirt. Or maybe the glass itself is bad and is becoming cloudy. I have never had this problem with the front windshield, only the back, when the connectors for the de-ice/de-fog wires went bad. Have you had a mechanic check it?

I have heard complaints from owners of Honda vehicles, especially Accords, about the defogger. I would say it's a faulty one that Honda decided to install in many of their vehicles. My dad used to have a 1987 Honda Accord 2dr. LX-i Hatchback and the defogger never worked properly.

You have to have the A/C on in tis generation Honda for the defogger to work properly.
I owned a 96, and had the same problem until I figured it out.

Even a 2006 Honda requires turning the A/C on to defog so it isn't necessarily the age of your car .
