98 Civic cranks and runs fine. 4cyl. auto, 180k mi. Sometimes at a traffic light the rpm's will drop to about 300, it will shake a little and go dead. When it does-then it will not re-start. Sometimes when I stop somewhere and cut it off, then it may not re-start when I try to start it again. The engine will crank over fine , the motor just will not run.
If I leave it for a few hours, and come back to it-then it cranks and runs fine and will go for days or weeks before it does this again.
I replaced the plugs, wires, rotor, and dist. cap. The battery is good, and the starter is good. It seems as though it only does this after the engine has warmed up, never cold.
It runs great, just 3 or 4 times a month it will shut down and will not crank until it is left alone for a couple of hours-any ideas.

okay, so I had just pulled into my driveway, and gotten out. I held down the doorlock switch so it would lock my driverside door as well as the rest (because in accords if you just press the switch once it will lock all of them except the driverside door). I couldn't get it to work, so i hit the switch the other way to unlock all of the doors. A split second after the doors unlocked, they all locked automatically! I hit the unlock switch again and again and it did the same thing every time. Then I closed the driverside door, unlocked it with the key, opened it again, and pressed the unlock switch again. This time everything worked. IS MY CAR POSSESSED lol but no really what is wrong?

Ok if you own say a 1995-2000 Honda Civic LX or similar vehicle and you put a high flow muffler and/or cat back exhaust on it, what makes you think you would have any chance at all against a 97 Integra GS-R? I am in my late 20's and drive a bone stock GS-R and all of these high school kids in their maybe 105hp vehicles with about $300 worth of mods seem to think that their little noise makers on the back of them are really going to do any good. I'm not knocking anyone, I'm just curious why these kids think a muffler is going to turn their vehicle into something it isn't.

I have a 90 Honda Accord which overheated the other night. I had to pull over because the temp guage was "hot". After looking over the engine compartment, the radiator fan was not working. I checked the fuses and found that the Cooling Fan fuse was blown. Good thing I carry extra fuses in my car. Thinking that this will fix the problem, it did not. Cooling fan was running like it suppose to, when the engine was off; so I waited to cool off before starting the engine again. Once it cooled off, I started back on the road only to see that the temp was going up again to "hot". I pulled over once again and popped the hood when engine was still running and noticed that the cooling fan was not running. So, I immediatley tuned off the engine. Once I turned off the engine, the cooling fan started. So, does anyone know what I should replace? Maybe the cooling fan switch, temperature switch, or fan relay. Please help as my vehicle is still parked where I left it in a store parking lot. THANKS.

Why do young kids feel the need to over modify a Honda Civic? They do realize they are disposable cars, right? I mean they originally cost about $12,000, so when these kids buy them used with 150,000 miles on them for $2000 and then sink about $5000 into them between rims, paint, mufflers and body & suspension kits. Do they know how ridiculous they look driving in them? They look like a little kid driving a go cart in the street all done up so that people will look at how stupid they are. Why not buy a real car that is 90% of the way to being fully moded, like a Mustag or Camaro, with a REAL engine in it and original sold as a sports car and not as a secretaries car. Add a nice exhaust on a Mustang and you have one of the nicest sounding cars on the road with true acceleration. Not some little lawnmower that sounds like it is farting and going no where too fast.

Hello, I own a 92 Honda Civic and upon fixing it up I found some places missing screws and when I attempted to put my rear seat back in the car, the bolt snapped in half. I went to a few auto part stores and they don't have any of the screws or bolts that I need! Any idea where I can find them??

i have a 93 honda accord.... I bought it about 2 weeks ago. the guy i bought it from said that about once every other month while driving it, it would just shut down. he said that if you let it sit for about 30 minutes it will start back up. yesterday while driving the car shut down. the motor just stops or something,,, i waited 30 mins, it started but then i only got about 3 miles and it happened again only now it won't start back up. it will turn over but just doesn't fire. someone said it could be the fuel filter, but the guy i bought it from said that he thought it was the ignition module. what are yours thoughts???

I am looking to buy a new car and I want to know what others think about a 1999 Honda Accord EX the car has 109,000 miles on it and I can get it with my trade in for about 7,200. Is this a good price?
will this car last a long time? (Like into the 200,000 mile range) and if so what are some of the normal things that have to be replaces after about 100,000 mark, and on and on after that. I appreciate your input. Thanks
