Hopped up Honda Civic, ETC owners?

Ok if you own say a 1995-2000 Honda Civic LX or similar vehicle and you put a high flow muffler and/or cat back exhaust on it, what makes you think you would have any chance at all against a 97 Integra GS-R? I am in my late 20's and drive a bone stock GS-R and all of these high school kids in their maybe 105hp vehicles with about $300 worth of mods seem to think that their little noise makers on the back of them are really going to do any good. I'm not knocking anyone, I'm just curious why these kids think a muffler is going to turn their vehicle into something it isn't.

second, i am also wondering why these kids think that if they slap on a blast pack and a cold air intake their car is going to be the fastest around. You need to spend a bit more money before you can boast about your car. I plan on spending around 10k on my 91 accord before I say anything or try to race people with somewhat fast cars. But seriously, you see all these little civics blastin' around with less hp than my stock accord!! Why is that?!

I even have had 2 Civic hybrids, a 2004 and a 2006. With Fed and WV tax breaks, we could no longer bypass up the 2006. The 2004 became a large automobile, however the 2006 became a type improve. For my making use of, the Prius Toyota could get extra useful mpg, being electric powered-gas,while the Honda is gas-electric powered, Honda's battery on no account runs on my own - Prius's does. Honda's battery kicks in as a suppliment to the gas engine. With slightly interest to protecting the rpm of the engine <4000, 50 mpg is attained. good luck.

They are dumb highschool kids. They dont know anything about building high performance cars, they watch to much TV and too many movies, so they think if they add an intake and exhaust that it gives them a bazillion horsepower...when in reality they get maybe 7 extra hp.

You should take your stock GS-R and blow the doors off their Civic's.

ok first of all these high school kids look at the fast and furious movies like they are the holy grail..... those movies are ******* retarded. secondly putting a can and an intake is about the easiest mod to do to a car but with limited performance gains....anywhere from 6-10 hp. ok i have a crx with a boosted ls/vtec (b18b block and b18c1 head) she pushes 15 pounds of boost for daily driving and 26 pounds of boost when im at the track. now these high school kids always come into the shop getting **** for thier cars that makes no sence.......i get about 5 a month that come in wanting big *** retarded wings to "put mad down force on the rear" of the car but they have a stock 89 beat up accord, 92 sunbird, older cavies......which are all front wheel drive and add no funtion to the car...........yeah its bad and i have no problem taking thier money...then laughing when they leave............................... HARD TOO. but these kids think that thier car is the **** and nothing can touch them........but what seems odd is they talk soo much trash when they pull up to you...rev the hell out of thier motors but then get all scared when they hear the t-66 turbo start to spool...and you leave black marks on the highway when your going 45-50 mph already......the look on thier face.......priceless.....lol

i have had many kids pull up to me in my LS thinking that had something under their sleeves... so i let them think they do... then once they get about a car length in front, i let them know what a garrett t3/t4 turbo sounds like. turbo is the way to go!

im sure you were like this when you were younger...its cuz these kids dont have jobs and dont have much money to spend on their cars so they save up their lunch money to buy intakes and exhausts. since we have jobs we can buy our turbos, ecus, b18 c5s, ect...also cuz they are younger and immature!
