GMC

I have a 2001 Chevrolet Venture with electric radiator fans that don't kick on until the engine is well above 300 degrees. The dealer say that's the way it's suppose to work. However, the thermostat is set to open at 195 degrees which would indicate to me that the fans should also start at 195 degrees.

Can anyone tell me what temperature the engine is suppose to be at for the fans to turn on?

My Park Avenue has developed problems. It began with some odd A/C activity. It would blow hot air but not every time it was started. Some times it was hot on both sides sometimes only on the passenger side. Now I have a check engine light accompanied by the traction control light staying on longer than normal. In the morning it stays on until I move the car. When the check engine and traction control lights started I noted the voltage was low, about 11.5 on the dash meter. I put a real meter on it and found the static battery voltage to be 12.7 vdc and the charging voltage 13.8 vdc. Battery is staying charged. That's OK so the problem is in the indication. I scanned the codes and found a P0171 System too lean (Bank 1). I have seen coincidental problems but not four at a time. Something is common to all this and I have no idea where to start. I am a fair shade tree mechanic but really need some experienced help. Please offer any thoughts you might have. Thanks to all.

a 2002 grand am works fine. i shut off on a hot day and won't start, can't hear fuel pump or ne thing. just cranks fails to start. sits for a while and attempts to start a sucess, fires up. what can i cheak an or what is the problem? thanks for reading and serious answers plz!

This blue plastic conector pluges in on top of the fuel pump and has a loop at the other end that is raped around the wireing harness as if just to keep from losing it if it were to come out of its conection point. If I had my buddy hold this conection tight then the fuel pump will run and the truck will start. This has to be held into place to run though I do not know what the function of this conection is or how to fix this problem and can I just pick up a new one of these conections at the parts store?

all fuses are good, the keys were in ignition all night so battery was dead and next day, abs light is on for no reason. also the car dings when you press the lock button w/o your seatbelt on.

I was driving home when the low gas warning sounded. I made it home. Later I forgot the warning and drove about 7 miles and made it back home. The next morning I drove about 1 block. It dropped dead. I figured i was out of gas. I had never run out before so I did not know exactly what to expect. I put $5.00 in gas in the tank. It won't start. It has spark. I think it is fuel injected. No carberator. How do I get it started? Is the pump picking up the gas.
