well this may not be a simple one. could be a bad hub bearing.... could be a bad wheel speed sensor.... could be a problem with the seat to steering wheel interface. LoL just kidding. ABS Light indicates an electrical problem but there are mechanical conditions which can fool the light. good luck.

The first thing to do is to get the ABS module scanned to retrieve the code or codes that are stored as when the warning lights come on there will be at least one code stored. That is how to start. Since you have something that is intermittent here, it could be you are having a low voltage when starting problem. This would be something like you have a weak battery which is affecting the voltage lowering to the point the ABS cannot get what it needs when starting. Or it could be related to an alternator not putting out enough. The only way to determine where to start the diagnosis is the scanner. Good luck.

Young ,have ya ever had the brake system flushed? Water will destroy the ABS system. It is recommended at 36,000 mi or every other yr. I think Midas offers this for about $50 bucks

Take the wheel off, and you will see a wire running to the rear of the caliper.
When you had the caliper off, it should have been inspected, and cleaned.
Possible bad connection - or rusted out.

yea it might be the wiring... i had the same problem with my Honda Odyssey and it ended up being the wiring being all screwey...
not sure on the location/name, but I'm sure a mechanic should be able to find the connection and test it pretty easily/quickly...
