My pontiac is overheating in stop and go traffic from I belive is because the fans on the radiator are not spinning. I bought the sensor but I canot locate where it is inside the car. I already changed the thermostat and the fuses so this is why I belive it is the sensor. If someone knows where it is located or has a diagram of the 3.4L that would be great! everything is just crammed in so tight I cant find anything in this car!! thank you!

my dad says its front wheel. My husband said I'd have to take out the engine and turn it sideways for there to be any possibility of it being front wheel drive.

I have a 1984 Cadillac DeVille with a big, nasty V8 in it that within the past six months started to "surge" while sitting at a light. The surge sounds similar to when a fan motor or something kicks on, (Like I had in another car.) but it yanks the car forward if in drive. Really hard. I have noticed it doing the same surging while in park as well. The engine will idle fine, but the idle will run way up for a second and come back down below normal idle speed. Lately, the car is dying when you stop too quickly at some lights or if you pull it into reverse or drive too fast from a standstill. I have noticed that the car dying is usually on the end of the surges that the engine has as the idle comes down below normal idle speed. I've gotten under the hood and watched the accelerator chain get pulled back whenever it surges and I have no idea what to do about it. I'm thinking of buying the repair book for it, but I figured I would ask here first. Thanks for your time.

Was blowing cool but not cold. Bought a recharge kit from napa psi. was a lil on the low side , boosted it to acceptable psi , was chilly for a coupe of days...Then nuttin just hot air like my mother-in law , mech. said I should have had the system evacuated and recharged, says he can prolly fix it for $140 by evacuating and replacing a seal and a valve , clean orafice & evaparator ,then recharging it (may not need the $700 compressor), says we should try this 1st, whadaya think ...oh yeah any sugestions on the mother-in-law would be greatly appreciated aswell .
