i dont believe there are any interchangable parts

no they will not . the 3.8(231 cid v-6) is a buick mill and is very different from any other gm(chevy) engine. this engine can be traced back to the 1950's as the 225 cid v-6.
this engine is well known to buick, pontiac, and olds owners
as it was commonly used in the rear wheel drive cutlass,
grand prix, and the buick regal, t-type, the grand national,
and the rare GNX.the buick t-type, grand national, and
GNX are turbo engines. the t-type and grand national
have governed top speeds of 125 but the GNX can exceed
150mph without breaking a sweat.

No; 3.8L or 3800 series is a Buick engine. The 3.4L is a Chevrolet engine (remember the 2.8L; same design).
