The brake light circuit starts with power to the brake light switch. The wiring from there enters the steering column and is either switched or passed through the signal switch. From there it goes back to the tail lights by way of a yellow and a green wire to the signal/brake light bulb socket. Ground return is through the frame. Good luck.

Autozone has some wiring diagrams online. I don't know if they go back that far or not, but you can take a look. If all else fails then try a Chilton's repair manual. You may be able to find one in the library under reference material if you don't want to buy one.

you can buy a Haynes manual at most auto part stores. they have wiring diagrams in them. but what i would do on this vehicle is just track each wire back 1 at a time. he may also be able to buy the rear harness and just plug everything in. do an Internet search for it. theres alot of stuff out there for these trucks.good luck

go to a gm dealer get a new tail light harness and save your self a lot of time
