you may have not gotten the key all the way to the off position when you pulled out the key this will cause this as the security system will reconise the key is gone with the accy on when you turned it off and waited 1/2 hour the security reset
and the car started get a new key code cut from the dealer this will fix it

Sounds like it was just a situation of low voltage. Maybe a loose or bad connection w/ the new battery. Cuz'in the one or the other of the fuel pump and/or the starter to drag down the 12.6 volts on start up down. Then, the dis-connect and re-connection of the battery resulted the issue(s).

Since, the battery had just been repl. a couple of weeks ago. But, I would suggest makin sure the connections on the battery posts are makin good contact, before this happens, again.

Glad to hear everything worked out for you.

You might have corrosion inside of the Battery Cable itself. On GM vehicles the small post fits into a red rubber sleeve that covers up the copper contact of the cable to the battery. Corrosion gets inside of the plastic sleeve and actually can block the electrical flow from your new battery. Have your husband take off both cables and dip them in a solution of Baking Soda and Water. If they foam all up with green stuff rinse them off and do it until there is no more foaming. Rinse the white stuff off and it should look like new again and give you good contact. Corroded battery stuff is very caustic and very dangerous to they eyes. Be careful. Good luck.

first off ,you need to check all the connections on it ,then make sure that the battery doesn't have a loose post on it ,that will cause this,i have seen new battery,s do this, then when he loosened it and hooked it back up that corrected the problem,it may never do this again, but have him check to make sure the battery doesn't have a loose side connection on it,that will cause this, hopefully it wont ever do this again on you,as for the radio staying on that indicated an ignition switch going bad on it,that's all i can think of for now on it,good luck with it. i don't have much of brain to pick tonight,,real long day, thanks.
