I own a shop, and what I would do is; put some fuel directly into the throttle body, spin it over to see if it fires then. If it does, you will probably have to remove the tank, and install a new pump & strainer. Once a pump is allowed to run dry, it burns them out trying to pump fuel that is not there. You should never, ever let it run completely out. The computer may be smart, but it doesn't know there is no fuel there, and it keeps trying to supply the engine. The fuel itself is what keeps the pump cool, and when it runs out of fuel it will burn up pretty quick just from running like that. I would say 99% that you have wasted the fuel pump.
Glad to help out, Good luck!!!

If you ran it completely out of gas, then $5 of gas might not have brought it up to the point of the strainer picking up gas especially if the car is sitting on an angle. I would first install more gas and recheck. If it still doesn't start and you say you have spark, take the cap off the injector rail that looks like a tire air filler port and push the valve down to see if there is any fuel pressure. If there is, you have something weird wrong. If there is no fuel pressure you will have to check for power and ground at the fuel tank connector. If you have both of these, you burnt out the pump and need to drop tank and replace the fuel pump. Good luck.

You could have plugged up ur injectors or fuel pump with the crap that's at the bottom of your tank.Never run it completely dry cause when it gets below 1/4 of a tank, the pump starts picking up the sediment from the bottom of the tank.Try putting some fuel system cleaner in and replace ur fuel filter.Just be careful not to break the fittings on it if they're rusted. There should be a hex fitting on the line and the filter.Use two wrenches to take the line off.One on the filter and the other on the line.Hold the wrench on the filter still while turning the one on the line.If nothing works, the fuel pump is either burnt out or the injectors need to be taken out and cleaned.

You need to figure out if the fuel pump is actually working first.
Have someone help you. Have them turn the key on while you lay under the rear of the car, you should hear the fuel pump.
It will be a high pitch whine not a buzz.
If the pump sound OK then you have other problems but I would think it is the fuel pump.

The first thing you should do is try spraying some starting fluid into your throttle body, this will get the engine started long enough for the fuel pump to get some fuel to the engine, if it dies, try it once or twice more, if it still doesn't stay running you should check your fuel pump, fuel filter(s). this should get you going.

Tom, in case you're placed everywhere close to Cinci i'm going to repair it for $250 plus aspects and because i'm getting GM aspects at value you pay for the aspects. that's a uncomplicated fix eliminating the radiator and pulling the harmonic balancer and timing cover. in actuality i'm going to put in a double curler timing kit and chain which will stay longer than everypart on the vehicle
