Two things to check... the warrantee center for the truck, and the local DMV to see if it's legal. Believe it or not, some states deem it illegal because it "changes the exhaust emission system". If the truck had a factory option of dual exhaust it shouldn't be a problem, but better safe than sorry.

To keep your warrenty valid, no you cannot alter the exhaust of the truck as this alters the emissions of the motor. If you do not care about the emissions or more importantly some of the warranty on the motor, it's your truck and you do whatever you want with it. Putting a full dual exhaust on these will mean obtaining some extra wiring so as not to set off false codes. Good luck.

The only way to do it and not void your warrenty and get in trouble with the man "which I hope to be soon". Is to buy a flowmaster or Magnaflow or other major brand dual tip exhaust.
While not a true dual exhaust it gives you the look and since these are trusted companys it does not void your warrenty since they replace the exhaust from the Cat-back. I have a simalar exhaust on my 07 and they didn't say anything when I took it in for a check up, and a oil change.

The only thing I found on it is called a "Brake Transmission Shift Interlock" which is located under the dash. If you changed the transmission, check the transmission wiring harness condition and connectors for shorts or open circuits (pinched or rubbery wires, corroded or greasy terminals) and the simplest fix of all, was the transmission harness reconnected? or left hanging on the parking brake cables out of the way? No Joke, I have seen it happen. hope this helps
