I'm having a problem wit hmy 98 Contour that goes someting like this: When I turn on my car, the RPMs shoot up to about 2000 and stay there for 2 seconds or so and then they go down to 0 and the engine dies. This started happening a few weeks ago when the first cold weather of the season came. I took it to the shop and they had a very hard time figure out what it was but finally explained that it was a problem wit the mass air flow system. however, after i got it bakc and it ran fine with no startup problems for a week, i get the same problems agian. The idle will fluctuate and die. The only way to keep it on is to press down on the gas a little and then quickly get it out of park into another gear so that it doesnt die. Anyone know what's my problem here? Thanks

Hi, my 1999 Ford F150 engine is turning over on it's own, it's not actually starting, just turning over continuously. Once turning over, it occassionally stops, but then will try again after a minute or so. I have seen a few other people post this issue, but there are no responses with what the fix was. fyi, there is no remote starter on this truck. If you have solved this problem in the past, please advise. Currently, I am planning on changing the ignition switch and/or starter, but dont' want to have to spend a fortune changing everything, so any advise on previous experience would be greatly appreciated. Currently it sits with the battery disconnected.

I have a 5.0 91 Mustang GT looking to put a bigger engine in it. I know I can swap to a 351 but I heard I can put a much larger engine in the mustang. Not worried about the price or trouble just what is the biggest possible engine I can put in my 91 Mustang GT? Heard I can fit in at least a 502 or larger...so any help on this matter would be great.

My ford econoline 5.0 started to run rough a few days ago. When i start the van the engine runs rough at idle and sometimes stalls, but when I drive and accelerate it runs normal.When I come to stop at a light the engine stalls at idle. What could be the problem with my engine or part? Thanks for everyone that helps me out.

all original and kept well. so some reason when i start the car and let sit in park for five minutes at half trottle, the car dies when i start to drive. the temp gauge says cold but i havent had problems like this before. i have put on two hundred miles in the past year and have replaced all the hoses. the radiator is full. i am new to this car because i inherited it from my great grandmother. after about five times of restarting it drives like a bat out of hell. so what can be the problem? please help

I am driving a '97 Ford Expedition 4.6L...when i hit the highway and get to about 2 - 3 RPM she doesnt want to shift and is very hesitant, then all of a sudden she'll kick in. It has been happening more frequently now......any suggestions before taking to get comp scanned? Thanx

My boyfriend has a 2000 Ford Mustang GT. He loves that car and wants to do so much with it. One of the things he wants is a gear shift knob in the image of a fist. I would like to get it for him but I have not been able to find one anywhere. All I see are pool balls and skulls. Any ideas?

It has 4 doors. good condition very little rust good interior engine runs just did alot of work on it. suspension work, transmission seals and lots of other things.

I have an 02 focus and the rear passagenger window will not stay up. I have read that it could be a regulator issue. I removed the panel, etc. and can see the problem. I see a hanging cable with a blue painted spring hanging around. I see the white clip that holds the window in place to the slider thing. The white clip appears to have 2 fasteners on each side to hold it to the slide assembly. only 1 fastener remains and some plastic parts are at the bottom of the door. It also appears that the channel sheared which kept the blue spring/cable to the fasterner. Ie, the spring cannot be secured to the clip. Motor works fine, the window just wont stay up.
Question: Can I buy a replacement white plastic fastener (junk yard or not). What is it called? Connect it to the slider, insert the springs/cables and save myself from buying a regulator?

so I have a 2001 ford mustang and I want to put in a center force clutch... running into problems a is it 10.5 or 11 b. in 2001 they switched from the T45 transmission to the 3650... anybody know how i can find out what mine has oh and where can i get specs on my car stuff like that... help please ... oh yeah another quicky if I get the slotted rotors made for high heat and stuff like that do i have to get special pads for those too ? please help
