I have an 02 focus and the rear passagenger window will not stay up. I have read that it could be a regulator issue. I removed the panel, etc. and can see the problem. I see a hanging cable with a blue painted spring hanging around. I see the white clip that holds the window in place to the slider thing. The white clip appears to have 2 fasteners on each side to hold it to the slide assembly. only 1 fastener remains and some plastic parts are at the bottom of the door. It also appears that the channel sheared which kept the blue spring/cable to the fasterner. Ie, the spring cannot be secured to the clip. Motor works fine, the window just wont stay up.
Question: Can I buy a replacement white plastic fastener (junk yard or not). What is it called? Connect it to the slider, insert the springs/cables and save myself from buying a regulator?

Your window regulator needs to be replaced. On that particular car, the regulator and window motor are serviced as an entire assembly. Go to your local Ford dealer parts department to price one out. They are actually pretty reasonable in price for what you get, if I recall correctly.

Does sound like a window music challenge. As before pronounced, eliminate the door panel (when you're unfamiliar with this, go searching the perimeters and in route of the bottom. There are frequently plastic fasteners that ought to both be became with a screwdriver or have the centers pushed in to launch). intently eliminate those and the door handles & the different portion of the door trim that ought to really be bumped off. The door panel itself might want to then come off with little difficulty. with assistance from doing this, in case you could isolate the section which could be damaged, take it to Ford or Autozone and get a change. it could be a truly effortless procedure to do. My different problem is that if both truly a type of autos reveal this problem, what else is incorrect on those autos which will bypass out and value a small fortune?

you can buy the parts for sure at the ford dealer in their parts department. Not service. it will cost alot if you take it to the dealer to be repaired. also if you think you can not fix it yourself, try a body shop. they also repair this stuff from accidents and stuff. take the broken parts with you to the parts house or dealer and then you will for sure get the right parts you need. it sounds like you need just the white clips though you may have to buy the mechanism. sounds like your motor is fine.

You can get the parts at a boneyard but you'd be better off going to the Ford parts counter. They can help you identify what you need as well as give you installation tips. Also, the quality will be there as you don't want to have to monkey with this again in future.
