Ok, let Me set everyone straight on this. The PCM, which is the computer is programmed from the factory for a higher performance power-train. It commands the injectors and timing to a higher yield than a standard crownvic. The transmission is built more solid and is also commanded by the pcm for better shift points as well. There is no chip!!! It is all programmed. the motors are the same as a standard crowns other than a cooling package to keep the engine oil cooler. Police packages are different when it comes down to the basics, the brakes and suspensions are beefier, and wiring is a little different in places to accommodate the police lights and radios, and are offered with bucket seats.

The Crown Vic Police Interceptors use the same two valve 4.6L V8 engine as the standard Crown Vic. What the PI and Marauder have differently than the standard Crown Vic is a different intake system. On the Vic, this pushes up the hp to 250 from the standard 239hp. The Marauder uses a four valve 4.6L with a different heads and cams which push the hp to 302.

There's no such thing. The engine computer at the factory is specially tuned for police interceptors along with police package components like larger brakes, better radiators, silicone hoses, special fuel injectors, and tranny and oil coolers.

No chip dude. They are burned into the PCM program from ford. Its only a speed limiter at 140 mph. They have oil cooler, trans cooler double floor pans, beefer springs, susp, brakes, cooling system but no extra special chip. sorry to let you down. You can buy one from hypertech or diablo pcm located behind pass side kick panel

i own a repair shop, and it actually had one in it,it was in the computer for it,before it was sold it was removed ,all of them are,and installed in other cars ,only if the car was going to another department would it be left in it,i have removed these before, but you cant buy them ,and there only issued to special departments that actually need them, but it did have one,but had to give it up,they do make a difference though it advances the timing and changes the shift and the over all running of it is a lot better you can buy a better set up for it,but it wont help it like the interceptor chip will, good luck i hope this help,s.

it wont have one. there are changes to the computer programming but no "chip". Police intercepters do have larger radiators, oil and transmission coolers, they even have power steering pump coolers. The 4.6 intercepters have the mustang cylinder heads to.
