I got a '92 Ford Explorer and bought mine at Auto Zone. Lifetime warranty and it is in the computer. I plan to upgrade later to a 96 explorer. I will change shocks though and other Auto Zone stuff. Then when my 96 shocks go out, go trade them in for another set of 92 shocks. That is how you save money. I have a lifetime on the radiator too, which I will change. So if it ever gets a pin hole leak, I can exchange it for a brand new one, and not pay to get it fixed.
But just buy some cheap shocks. That is like saying I want a brand new car but I don't want to spend over $5000. Impossible.
