On a Z28 1988 TPI 350 engine can I replace the valve stem seals with out removing the rockers and thus not have to adjust them?

I heard this can be done. I am using the rope method to keep the valves in the heads.

It has a rough idle most of the time in Drive or Reverse, when I am at a dead stop. The car idles fine when in Park or Neutral. It has a slight pause and feels like it is going to die when I give it gas from a dead stop. Please Help!!! Thanks.

Hi I am a 20 year old student and my neighbor is selling her
'98 chevy cavalier. I have heard mixed things about this car but I really just need something to get me from point A to point B over the next 4 years. Do you think these cars are ok? I can get it for $3000. it's a Z24 sports model (2 dr, full loaded, automatic, auto car starter, etc) with low kms. Any input on the cavalier is appreciated!

Really! Everyone in this country buys Toyotas anyway. More Toyotas and Hondas are built in the USA than Chevrolets..

No spark at all - but when I jump the pink wire on the distributor to the positive side of the battery it fires right up and stays running.

When I shut off the key it stays running - until I pull the jumper wire off.

What is wrong??????
How do I fix it - so it starts on it's own???

PS - it is an HEI big cap distributor - the coil is on the top of the cap.

Have a new rebuilt 350 chev engine which sat for 5 years before being started.
The engine starts OK but when sitting at low speeds seems to start running badly and also stalls when breaking.
The timing and carby seems to be set up OK ( Holley 600 dp )Vacuum seems ok and leads are good.
There is oil deposits above the threads of the plugs but the engine dos'nt look like it's burning any oil.
Does anyone have any idea's
