open the trunk, look at the top of the seatback, you'll see what needs to be pulled to unlatch the seats

If your Malibu has this option there will be a pull in the trunk for each fold down section...if not there will be nothing there.

If you open the trunk you will see two pieces of cloth straps hanging down.If you pull the straps this will release the rear seat latch.You then can fold the seats down.
