Just bought a VW sat nav unit designed for my car that wasn't added when the previous owner bought the car brand new. Will all the cables be there just to plug straight in? It is ment for my car but as a added extra! So surely thay should be there for future use. e.g What i'm doing. Adding it at a later date!

Can the amperage draw on a typical starter on a 4.3 liter v6 be checked with a meter at the batter when somone cranks if over, or does it have to be removed and taken to be tested. My starter cranks very slowly with a fully charged battery. terminals are clean. cranks slowly but always starts. Wont make it thru winter like this I know. If starter amperage draw can be tested, what should it read and what should I set the min/max amp test for on the digital meter? thanks

I have a 1991 Caprice in show room condition and I have recently got a new gas eficiant car. The dealer wouldnt take the Caprice in trade so now I am stuck with a big car takeing up all my driveway space!. The car is in perfict condition has 65000 miles on it . power stearing and brakes New AC 200 watt stereo with X M satalight radio. LCD tv Body and interior is like new! I tryed to give the car away here in my small town but no one needed it. I hope to find someone out there that realy needs a car if anyone wants to pick it up come on down and get it . Thanks!

I dont kno how many ohms my subs are and if my gain & eq are turned dwn the louder the music can go, but when i turn them up, the subs shut off at a lower volume on my head unit. Please help me get more power!

Basically, it looses signal and then half way through the tunnel bends, and then the signal comes back a bit, then it goes again. Weird. Sure this has happened in other tunnels that bend too!

I am getting a dvd player installed in my truck but the only thing is that it won't play when the vehicle is in drive, only when the E brake is in place. For you dorks who think that I will be the one watching when I'm driving, it's not like that. I want it to play when I drive so that my passenger can watch when I go see my mom 5 hours away. How can I get in and manually rewire the system so that it thinks that I'm immobile when I'm driving? I know it can be done but I don't know how to do it. Thanks!!

My amp is a Hifonics Brutus BXi 2006D.

My trunk had a leak and got some water on my amp. probably enough water to fill the little shot glasses.

and about 2 minutes later my music wasnt playing along with my music. it was making its own bass. kind of like thunder.

so i turned the volume all the way down. and it was still doing it. so i turned of the car.

i let it dry for like 10 hours and tried it again. and it was playing fine than it started again after like 10 minutes. but the music was playin fine and the woofers were doing what they were supposed too. accept that you can hear the thunder sound in the background.

so i let it rest for another 5 hours and it played perfectly. no more wierd sounds. the subs are hitting perfectly normal. the amp isnt heating up. everything just fine...

Does that mean that its fine and it just needed to dry or is it ganna blow up on me later??

I have a auto reverse cassette player in my chevrolet celebrity. So I bought a cassette adapter to play my mp3 player on and when I put the tape in, I just heard a clicking noise coming from the cassette player and static in my speakers. Then I tried it on a regular stereo cassette player and it worked fine. So is it something wrong with the deck in my car or do I need to keep looking for another adapter? An if its the deck is there anyway to fix it?

I own a Chevy Cavalier and want to add speakers into the trunk, leaving the factory one in and just adding a box with 4 speakers into the back, problem is the store told me I needed an amplifier, but saw the price and said no way to that. So my question is is there any way to bypass the amplifier and go straight from the radio/cd player into the speakers directly? I think it is, just don't know how!!!

I think my car's CD player needs to be cleaned. The CDs I play in it skip a lot whereas they don't in other CD players.
How do I go about cleaning it without damaging it? I was thinking a pipe cleaner might be good to remove dust, but I'm not sure.....
Any ideas?
