in cars we find some abbreviations such as:

GX, GXR, GL, GLX, etc.

would you please tell me what they stand for?

NB if there is a site the gives all abbreviations for such abbreviations I have given above, please give me the link to it.

i was going at about 37 mph on interstate highway on the extreme left lane and i got pulled over for going too slow and impeding the flow of traffic. Also i was ticketed for taking out lots of heavy black smoke and smog out of tail pipe.

I feel this is very unfair because i was targeted simply because my vehicle is too old. How come new car drivers are never ticketed?

My car doesn't run over 40 mph because its transmission and engine have no more strength left in it. I tried telling this to officer and he said he will write me a 3rd ticket if i argue more and he even said, "using bus is better than driving lemons and endangering yours and other people's lives".

I now feel discriminated and humiliated. The officer was unfair in issuing me a ticket, right?

I am replacing a transom on a 20' cudy, inboard Outboard, when I removed the old one I noticed the 2 sheet,s of ply were not Laminatet but Stapled, can I use Resin only and SS screws? also I know the thickness is critical, it apeared to have only 2 layer,s of cloth on the outer Skin, can I use 3 just to be safe and still be in the thickness range? the original thickness was 1 1/2" 2 Sheet,s of 3/4" ply, and I AM using Marine Grade Ply, I am a Body man of 30 + year,s so I know my way around Fiberglass, the early demise of the transon is from the amount of hole,s drilled for verious add on,s, at least 10 that were not properly sealed.I guess people use the cheepest Silacone they cay find on such a critical area and expect it to do the job.
Thank you.

Hi,

This is the sort of question I've never questioned myself as I didnt assume it will ever happen to me. I had an accident in UK, where the car, an old car, is not mine but I am insured.
It was my fault as i was queuing in a line, moving slowly was in the first gear, and I have checked something on the GPS while suddenly the other car stopped and bumped into it.
His car was a tough van and only one rear light broken as far as I could observe. The car I was driving ended with both beacons broken plus the plate number and bumper bended/broken and the hood insignificantly affected.
I didnt really know what I have to do, I asked the man if I should call police, said I dont need to, offered me a paper with his name, and we left.

This is just a case but I'd like to know where I can read what I have to do legally in case of accident.

About this case I only wonder how much I would have to pay ?!

I currently have a 2000 Malibu LS with almost 152,000 miles on it and the original factory alternator. Had a couple of minor instrumentation problems early on which were fixed with warranty, but other than that just routine maintenance (i.e., tuneups, oil changes, routine visual inspections, etc). Should I get a 2008 Malibu when it comes time to get another? I'm just wondering because my stepsister bought a 2001 Malibu at the same time I purchased my 2000 Malibu, and hers turned out to be a lemon (thousands upon thousands of dollars of repairs including alternator had to be changed out four different times). She had to sell her car at about 75,000 miles for parts because by then it was not driveable.

I noticed that my car was starting "hard" a few days ago then when I went to start it yesterday it would not start. It makes a clicking sound and will NOT start when jumped either. The battery is only 3-4 months old. I have a 99 Ford Windstar. Alternator? Starter? And what is the cost for these things?

I have a '01 Ford Taurus with a "Vulcan" V6 (150 h.p.)
Until 1997 Ford made an F-150 with a straight 6.
Since most vehicles use a "V" engine, why is it better (if it is?)
Also interested if Toyota or other import trucks are better than the old "big three"? Thanks!
