A boat is something that can float across the sea usually to catch fish or to transport passengers from one place to another. It is most useful when transporting to another short distance place but unuseful when going to far distant places.

there are as many uses of boats as there are boat styles . From canoes great for rivers and small lakes. fishing boats for fishing.ski boats for family fun.commercial vessels, for delivery of goods.I could go on and on. To answer your question I would say. transportation.Recreation.commercial uses.racing. rescue,research ,fishing. and drug running,,,lol

A cool relaxing vessel for consuming cold alcoholic beverages on hot sunny days. Some are fast,some are slow. I prefer fast to get to the party hole quicker. Oh yea they also use them to transport goods on rivers, great lakes and oceans.These are called ships.
