Always give "year", "make", engine size, and model # when asking questions. We need all of that info to give an informed answer.
Saying it was a snowmobile would have been helpful.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the motor plug".
The two round caps on the side of the engine, with a slot in the middle, are for timing purposes.
