Already own one restaurant, gonna open second one. I decided to use my existing sellers permit and not apply for new one. Did I do myself a disservice as far as taxes go???

I claim 1 on my taxes, if he is to claim 2 (himself and myself) does this mean I have to start claiming 0 (or, as I'd pref, force him to claim 1 again and not 2) or can he do this even though I claim myself and work fulltime? We make the same hourly wage and I'd planned on filing seperatly at the end of the year (I've heard we can save money this way)..

My friend decided that he would blow all of his yearly income on luxuries and what ever he wants and then use his income tax returns at the end of the year to buy his truck. I dont believe he is on solid ground with this theory. What do you think? He works a full time job making 9.25 an hour cutting grass. only claims himself as a dependent.

Who would I file a complaint w/ if an employeer is not supplying a pay stub? We have no idea if taxes are being deducted from a paycheck (Weekly base pay is $X amount before commissions - sometimes net pay (minus approx 24%)is deposited directly into a bank account, sometimes a check - but there is NEVER a paystub mailed (in case of direct deposit) or attached to a physical check. I live in Illinois. I want to buy products from drop shippers and wholesalers, but first I needed to get my sales tax ID. Before I could get my sales tax ID, I needed an EIN number. I got the EIN and then I got my IBT (Illinois business tax number/tax ID) but I will never have employees. Recently I got a letter from the IRS telling me how I should pay my taxes and when I should pay. Yet these directions are purely alien to me. Obviously, I know nothing of taxes and I do not really know what to ask here, but: if I have no employees and if I use my tax ID to buy from legitimate wholesalers and then sell those items on eBay, how should I pay my taxes? How much do I need to make to pay the IRS, more than 20,000 a year? Do I need to fill out a tax form every time I sell an item?

and verifing the sales tax. I'm not a total idiot, but I haven't done Sales & use tax in a few years and don't remember. Also do dealership pay sales tax on the inventory they buy from the manufacturer? and do we have to pay if it's from another state. I'm in WI. If anyone knows of a site that step by steps this please let me know. Thank you!

What is it called when your company allows you to set aside tax free money from your check to put towards medical, dental, or vision expenses. My company doesn't have vision or dental so I want to convince them to do this. What should I say to them?

I am claiming 0 right now and they take a lot of money out. I have never owed when claiming this and get back about $1,000 when I do my taxes. Is it smart to switch to 1 so they take less out? Of course I want the best way to get me more money.

I'm looking at mobile homes online and it'll say 'Property Taxes: $70' or something, along with the lot rent and such.

I'm just wondering if that $70 is monthly or yearly.

Thanks.

I have a question about dependants. Or more particurally, how not to be one anymore. I am 20 years old and living and going to school in NC. My parents also live in NC, and as of this past April are still claiming me on their taxes. They live at the other end of the state. I rent my own apartment, and for the past three years have paid for my own schooling. I am not sure about this year because they have finally qualified for a PLUS loan, which as of tonight I have not convinced them to take. I also pay for my own insurance. The most financial help I have gotten from them is my Mom helped me do laundry at the laundry mat and has bought me a window air conditioner. What process do I need to go though to no longer be claimed as a dependant? It is affecting my financial aid because my mother is rich, while I have only 32 cents in the bank. (hard month, to say the least.)

Hope this makes sense, its late!

I bought 5 acres in a deed restricted subdivision in the Houston area 3 years ago. I paid $55,000 for the lot at that time. I am contemplating selling that property now and I have seen similar lots sell for $150,000. I am trying to find out what I could expect to pay in taxes on the gain I make from the sale to see if it is worth selling or not. I have made no imporvements to the property since I purchased it.

Where I'm employed I work As a Salesman and office help. I work a designated schedule and get an hourly wage and should be considered an employee, however i am treated as a subcontractor when i get paid and she has me file a 1099 tax form. To make matters worse I don't get paid overtime or any other benefits. I've talked to my accountant and he says what she is doing is very unethical and even called her on it. I basically run her business for her. What should I do? Other employess have brought it up and she gets irate and offensive. Suggestions??
