I have a 8-5 job and a sole proprietorship business. I'll be reporting the proceeds from the business as personal income. I need to file for extension. Are there separate extension forms or do I use Form 4868?

I have a friend who has been on Temporary disability for several years and has 2 children under 17. Her income is 204 per month (2448 per year) from assistance, and her housing is free from the voucher program, but she has no help for medical expenses and no ability to get a job because of having no money for transportation. Is she able to file taxes and get the Child tax credit even if her income is so low? Is her income even reportable as taxable income?

My wife works in a church office...on her W-2's there is both Social Security and Medicare withheld....do I still need to fill out Schedule SE?? The definition of a "church employee" in the form's directions state that the employee works for a church with a certificate making it exempt from social security and medicaire taxes...I am assuming that since they have been taken out, that she doesn't qualify...is that right?!?!
thanks!

I was told by a friend that any money I spent on books and other school related stuff can be claimed on my taxes as well as any financial aid and student loans. I still have all my check stubs from my finaid disbursements and receipts from all my books, are they of any use to me now? I have stuff dating from 2001 to 2006 when I graduated from college. Thanks! :)

And we are really behind on our bills, like we still owe PROPERTY taxes from last year (3,000) and are barely near paying them off. I'm scared they will sell our house in a tax sale, is there anything we can do?!

Is it true that I can request a certain amount (set amount) be deducted from my paycheck? As an example, request that the amount be $75.00? This would be the same for all my pay checks. If I can, what are the advantages/disadvantages of this?

I'm trying to figure out if the amount i'll have to pay to federal taxes is correct. I'm filling as a nonresident, and at the end, the total amount of taxes sums to about 16%. Does that sounds correct?
I'm afraid I'll have to pay a lot of money, as my employee didn't withheld enough..
Thanks!
