Some larger post offices offer that service but not all do. Where I live, if it's not deposited by 6:00 PM it won't be postmarked until the next day. No late drop service is offered.

Since you have a refund coming it really doesn't matter as there is no penalty for late filing if you have a refund coming. Penalties are assessed on the tax due and if there is no balance due there is no penalty.

in my area there is always one post office that stays open 'til midnight on tax day, just to drop off and get postmarked. I actually had to go one day, and I literally drove up, got on line with my car in the parking lot and when my turn came, a man took my letters, postmarked them and dropped them in the box. I have seen this advertised in other areas, so I would imagine if u absolutly needed to find a place to drop them...you may need to drive a while, but some place will be open.

They usually do at the post offices, but the ones at shopping centers and so on... probably not. Those places that do shipping also have USPS service, most of the time, and they'll postmark things for you.

Same as usual, for most of them. Some post offices are open until midnight though.
