The first four months I files 3 dependants just to get a little more money because I was extremely broke. A new company took over and I changed it to 1 dependant. I have 4 months showing 3 dependants then 8 months showing 1 dependant. How do I fill my taxes out? Also I filed 3 dependants last year and didn't file at all. Am I going to owe big time or break even or get some back? Do I need to file different forms for the 2 different dependants. I need some help with this.

Something on my 1099 says that option trades aren't reports to the IRS. Does that mean I cannot write-off losses from option trades?

My husband and I file married-joint. Together, we make approximately $57,000 / yr. We have always had "0" withheld on our w-4 forms, and got a modest return. This year, however, we both purchased a first home (5 "points" were paid + we paid approximately $5,500 in interest in 2006); also, we had a first baby. When the baby was born, the primary income earner (myself) changed withholdings to be "2" as vs. "0." My husband kept his withholdings at "0".

Now it's tax time, and we have NO IDEA how much we will either owe or get back. Any tax wizzes out there willing to help?! If we're going to owe, we're going to have to think of something quick ... ;0( Thanks!!

We filed joint on federal taxes and now my wife is doing her state taxes. We have a joint savings account that earned some interest last year and we are not sure how much of that interest is taxable if any? Any tax gurus know the answer to this?

Thanks

received his State Tax refund back. Today in the mail a 1099-MISC form came, showing earned income for the 2006 Tax Year. My question is this, I know I am gonna have to file this for him but not sure what kinda form to use. Everytime I pull up 1099-Misc, I keep getting the small receipt type paper, like his employer had sent him showing what he had made. I need the actual Form to use, for his business write offs, and showing the income he had made?? Can I get these forms from the Library or anywhere on the net?

I'm a single-filling college student and made around 7,500 last year. I paid in state and federal, but will I get that all back? What is the cut off for a student whose parents still claim them as a dependent?

I have not worked in a city where local taxes are deducted from my paycheck in about 4 years. This year I recieved a paycheck from a previous employer from some lawsuit they had going and I paid 3.00 in city tax. Do I have to file a city tax return for that tiny amount? And if so how do I file if my husband is filing for a different city, but we filed our federal and state returns as joint?

I just got back all 4 w2 forms from 2006. I received unemployment , for about 6 months then I worked at the mall for 4 months and on that w2 form it shows federal income tax with held to be 100 $, then I worked at Target part time for about a little over a month in a half and it shows federal income tax .07 cents and now at my current job it shows federal income tax withheld 0 $. I called my boss and asked why and he checked to see how many I claimed and he said I claimed 5 which I never would have the form must of either gotten filled out wrong or a mis print. So my question is will I owe back taxes? I have a 5 yr old daughter and I am married but we didn't live together for 11 months last year.So will I owe taxes or get a refund as usual?
