I am getting ready to file my taxes for '06, I receive food stamps for a few months last year as well as health care benefits for the entire year for my daughter. Will they ask if you have received these services when you go to file?

This argument has been used to justify the exclusion of each and every group of immigrants struggling to come here since the founding of the country. What it amounts to is "people who immigrate are poor" Well duh! Of course they're poor when they arrive. The rich have no compulsion to immigrate. The history of the country would indicate that immigrants are a good bet for the future. They are motivated to succeed, and have the initiative to run the considerable gauntlet erected to obstruct them. The big down side to illegal immigrants (and the real reason they're tolerated) is the fact that they depress wages in the country.
