If HSA contributions are not pre-tax under AMT I don't think it's worth it, so I'd like to know.

When my husband joined the military, we lived in oklahoma, so his w-2's say oklahoma. We now live in CA so of course my w-2's say California. Because he is still an Oklahoma resident, and I am married to him, I am told that I too am an Oklahoma resident, and I must pay taxes in that state. Does this sound right that I should pay taxes in two states. Has anyone else been through this. Am I confused by what I am being told. (this is what the lady at H&R Block told me)

Whether it's for cleaning businesses or other such. What is the C.O.P.'s (Commonwealth of Pennsylvania) rate on the State Tax. I don't mean the 6% either. I mean the $ amount.
I myself have no idea even though it's taken out of my check. But I file no tax return for I haven't made enough this year. But I will have to this coming year.

My brother (Executor), sister and myself are the beneficiaries of our mother and step-father's living trust. They are both deceased and we are dissolving the trust. If any tax liabilities or other costs are discovered after the trust proceeds are dispursed equally between the three parties, who would be responsible for the liabilities? Are all three parties held equally responsible? Can they come back only on the Executor or any one of the three parties?

I just recently found out that I have to file a 1099 for my new job. And I am so confused on what I am going to have to pay and what would be considered as a deductible.

I read that I'll have to pay 15.3% or something in that range for SS/Medicare, I get that. But how do I know what I'll be paying in federal? And what about state and local?

Also, what kind of taxes would be considered a deductible? I get paid gas mileage, so how would I figure that? How many total miles I drive, or how much gas I put in my car? And would other stuff to maintain my vehicle be a deductible?

I'm just so confused. I've never had to manage my own faxes and pay them on my own. So if anyone knows of a good website that explains all of that, I'd appreciate it. I went to the IRS website but there's just so much there.
