There's a difference between tax avoidance and tax evasion! For one, I and everyone I know detest paying taxes, and we look for every legal deduction known to man to get out of paying them. You can have three different people do your taxes and they'll all come up with different answers if the taxes are complicated enough (I took a tax class I know). So read, read, read and deduct as much as you can! Most people don't deduct all they can because they are afraid. Don't be. The chances of you getting audited among millions of people are slim and if it's a legal deduction, it's within your rights to take it. It's called living in America.

Yes, I tell the IRS the truth. Quite apart from the moral angle, I prepare taxes for a living and it would not be good for my future income stream if I were to be caught telling lies to the IRS.

so what you go around lying to people, the IRS who's cares are you trying to hide something ? then yeah you should be nervous !! if your not than why ??
