Hello I am CONSIDERING my boyfriend moving in with me. However, I am disabled, currently recovering from a chronic illness, and wondered what benefit will I lose. He is a freelance worker but he does earn full time by the time the year is out. I am on housing benefit, council tax benefit, income support and disability living allowance. I found out my claim for the dole was sanctioned a while ago. So I made two applications: one for hardship, one for jobseekers. They made no correspondance so after a few weeks I went in to ask them what was going on with the claim.

They turn round to me and have the cheek to say I'm not entitled to anything because I didn't sign on. But they didn't tell me anything about that, instead they sent me a letter saying my rate was going UP! How am I supposed to know when to sign on if I'm making a whole new claim? This stinks, they wrote to me explicitly saying I have money coming in and then they don't pay it. What can I do? Can I take them to court?

Hi

I filled in my P91 and i sent it back. Ive been told by my new employer that i will get some form of rebate.

But how do they work it out??

I left my previous job at the start of october, became self employed until Jan and then started this one at the end of feb.

it would be nice how they work it out and get a rough figure on what i could get back from them ( i will cherish the moment forever!!!)

Regards

Richard

I am considering selling my home but had a question about capital gains tax. I purchased and have lived in the home since last spring (about a year) and I want to sell it before the 2 year mark. I expect to make a gain of $30-$60k on the home and plan on immediately using that profit as a down payment on a new primary residence. Will that gain still be taxed if it is used entirely as a downpayment. How long do I have to buy a new home before having to pay taxes?

for non payment of tax as self employed. He has told my friend that as she is still his wife, she can also be liable to pay the debt by selling the matrimonial home. He was on mortgage BUT not on the Deeds of the house. Is this true? Can she be made to sell the house to pay her estranged husband's tax debt????
