If a relative is in a lower income tax bracket than me, are there tax or legal issues of taking cash and putting it in their bank account? Ofcourse, the goal here is to get interest income taxed at a lower tax bracket than what I would be taxed at if I put it on my own savings account.

Thanks.

On February 2nd, I received a notice that I was going to be audited for 2005. I used HR Block Tax Cut. I wanted to use my worry free audit support. After talking to multiple people who couldn't help me, calling numbers that didn't work, and getting the run around...I still haven't talked to a single person about my audit. They take the same info when I call, give me the same mystery numbers, for the same people who don't exist. I can't tell you how frustrated I am. My audit is next week. What do you recommend I do, other than try to inform as many people as possible that this "feature" doesn't work. I have been lied to and am ticked off! Help

I am a salaried employee in a Public Sector Bank in india. In 2003 I have not filed IT return due to my frequent transfers during April-Sept. Afterwards I am not able to muster courage to file IT return with one year failure to file IT return. Now I want to file IT return. All these years my employer is deducting tax to the last paise and remitting the same to IT department promptly. I have not concealed any income from my employer.

My father has about 80 acres of land and has recently retired. He needs to either sell the land or figure out a way to supliment his social security income. He would like to keep the land so that his children can inherit it..this is the idea he came up with and we need advise on if it is advisable to do this

He would like to incorporate the land and have us kids (9 of us) buy shares...from what I understand this can cause some complicated tax issues (double taxation as well as step up when property is sold)...is there a better way to handle this? Could my father maybe have a will that is updated regularly that would provide payback to each child what they are able to help with (some can do more than others, some not at all)...this would assure those of us who help our parents out that we are going to get a return and maybe give the incentive to the children who are not helping them out currently...does this make sense? Please Help!
