Did you Itemize your deductions in 2005? If so you may want to review what you claimed as a Charitable contribution in relation to the vehicle that you donated, If you overstated the value or understated the value, you would want to file an amended return to make any adjustments to your 2005 return.

You made the contribution in 2005 the deduction would have to be claimed in the year it was made.

If you did not Itemize your deductions on the Schedule A for 2005 you might want to compare your Itemized Deductions to the Standard Deduction to see if the 1098C would be beneficial to you to Amend the 2005 return to claim it.

The only thing I can add to what Rob and Barkley Hound have said is that the Charity may've had their books completed for 2005 when the donation was given.
If they were already done, and this was "in-take" on 2006 it would be a 06 deduction.
If you already claimed it on '05, you were supposed to have that reciept in hand before you included it as a deduction (fyi).

good luck & bless

If you don't want to complicate matters I would deduct it for 2006 taxes. If you already have already deducted it for 2005 I would contact the IRS and ask them.

Here are detailed instructions. http://www.irs.gov/instructions/i1098c/ar02.html#d0e125

The form is supposed to have the actual date of donation on it in addition to the sale date.
