There should be a number on your loan paperwork with HSBC Bank to call and talk to someone.

The IRS sent the money to HSBC Bank so H&R Block didn't lose your money BUT I would definitely get on HSBC's case. Talk up thae chain. Talk to supervisors until you are satisfied that HSBC is doing everything they should be doing. Keep note of who you talk to, when you talk to them and what was discussed. And let them know you are doing it. It will make them want to do a good job and resolve your concern.

Have you verified that the IRS sent the full refund to HSBC? You can do this at irs.gov "Where's my refund?" It is possible that some of your refund was taken for back taxes, student loans, child support, etc.

If you have not received any money from HSBC, you should ask the H&R Block bank if they can trace it for you. It is possible that your refund was taken for bank debt.

The HR Block office has a record of when the money was sent to HSBC and whether HSBC has sent any money back to HR Block, to your bank, or to a debit card.

Complaining to BBB is OK but they won't get you your money.
