For my graduate course, I was asked to write a paper on sheltering income from the IRS and then being able to have access to same funds without them knowing.

I don't think this is possible, but I don't think "that's not possible" will take up 10 pages of work.

Any links to if or how it CAN be done?

This is my first time paying taxes, because this is my first time having a job with a paycheck. The only other jobs I had were just volunteer jobs. So if you could help me with some good information, then it's very much appreciated. Also, when is the deadline to pay your taxes? I know it's April, just don't know what day.

Thanks and thanks again.

We moved from Hawaii to Washington state due to my husbands job. My parents also moved from Hawaii to Washington at the same time, so we rented a large container to ship all of our belongings in and combined our stuff. Since my parents have a credit card to pay the $11,000.00 bill, they paid for it up front and I later gave them $$$ to pay for most of my share which came out to aprox. $2,000.00. The problem is that the moving receipt is in their name and I gave them payments in cash and have no proof of it. What do I do if I get audited for this? Can I have my parents write a note saying that I gave them money? Should I write a check in their name and pretend that they cashed it? What should I do?

He went to that school for 3 months and then I pulled him out because it was a terrible school. It has changed owners about 3 times in the last year as far as I know. For two months I have been asking far a receipt. I keep getting the run around. First it was the printer was down. Then I called and talked to another girl and she said the printer was never down. I went down there and there is a new director. She told me she would mail it to me. A week later I called and she said that she mailed it to me, but I have recieved nothing. I'm really mad. What can I do? do I call the state or IRS. When I call now I just get the answering machine.

What is the relationship in terms of tax filling for the parent who pay and the children? Is that painful for the child support payer for paying buth without getting any credits?

My parents usually do this for me but I moved out.

I went to school full time for that year and worked two jobs to make about 12,000 at one job and about 400 at the other. I have a Wamu checking and savings acct and an ING Direct Savings acct. I moved from CA to NV on Dec 19 and left both jobs before this date.

I hear a lot of ppl file online or go to HR Block or Jackson Hewitt. Tips and suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks.

I received a w2 form for employer paid education. I attended school full-time (four quarters) in 2006, but my employer also included the last 2 quarters of 2005 plus all four 2006 quarters in my 2006 w2, for a total of 6 quarters of school tuition that I have to pay tax on. I should have been taxed on the 2005 quarters on my 2005 taxes by getting a separate w2 for tuition then, but it all got heaped together on my 2006 instead. Do I just get taxed for all 6 quarters or should they fix this? Hmmm, odd situation I realize. Thanks

I sent in my state and federal tax. I got my state refund but not my federal just yet.but I know it takes longer.
If I were to get my federal refund back, can the government still audit me in the future?
