I've recently been made redundant and have been granted lots of shares. The issue I have is that some are profit shares, some are Buy as you earn and some are Save as you earn scheme shares. I know my allowance of profit is £8800 for the year, but how much can I sell without the tax man querying my sale? Would it be safer to sell the allowance amount each year and stay safe?

1. Every citizen should be provided with a permanant account number
2. Cash transactions should be discouraged by printing money upto the denomination of Rs.100.00 only
3. All transactions above Rs.1000/- to be made through banks with dr/cr card, funds transfer, chq/dd or online payments.
4. All taxes (IT,ST,cess,ED,service tax etc.,) should be dropped. Only transaction tax of 1% on each bank transaction let it be debit or credit to be levied and automatically transferred to treasury a/c. (I think this will be sufficient to replace all the taxes)
5. Banks should maintain one a/c and give uniform interest.
6. If all taxes are dropped, somuch of paper work and filing of returns, maintainance, inspecting and scrutinising will vanish & the people used for this purpose can be utilised to do for more productivily
7. If cash transactions are discouraged, then corruption, black money etc. will fall to nil.
8. budget only for proper expenditure and need not worry abt income.

I just found out I made a little bit of money in 2005 because I was in school and I didn't know I had any income. I'm doing a paper filing and I have an IRS 1040 form. I wanted to know if I would need a separate CA one also.

I work on a commission basis, the commission is based on job profits, I have discovered that the company is coding laborers as secretaries and sales people, thus reducing the workmens comp rate. They are charging a higher rate back to the jobs. they are also lying about the hourly rate they are paying some of the laborers in order to get a lower rate. What can I do?

I've been working at a bar for some time now, everything I make, I make in tips. Nothing is recorded and I dont have a regular wage.

Sometimes the tips vary but either way it pays the bills.

I started a savings account about the same time I started the job. I recieved a statement from the bank saying I gained $50 in interest.

Im told I must file this as income with the tax people... but I dont want to pay and arm and a leg to state what I gained in interest for my savings... its so small!

I've also been told because I work at a bar for tips alone, I dont need to file. Kind of like antique dealers, or people who do yard services.

Any advice on this?

I was an international worker as a waiter for an internship in Washington D.C. last year.
Working 11weeks, I got a J-1 Visa.

The payment was good and everything just perfect.

Having happily returned back to my country, very recently, I've received a W-2 form, demanding the declaration of my taxes.

I've never done this before and now I am totally overwhelmed by the massive information I got from the International Revenue Service website (http://www.irs.gov/efile). Could somebody tell my just what's the exact procedure I should do?

I am a Nonresident Alien, and I am not in American.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

My AGI is too high to get any deduction from real estate rental losses. Thus, claiming depreciation deduction doesn't help me with anything. An accountant said that I should still claim it, as when i sell the property, the IRS assumes I have claimed it anyway. Is this true?
