If my total income for 2006 was $8000, should I bring my tax/intrest info from my house mortgage company, or is that just for people with larger incomes? Someone told me it was only used as a deduction and it would not help my refund?

My husband started a sole propritor(sp?) painting business in October of last year.He obtained his Contractors License at that time. It is a "side" job that he just does himself in his spare time. Was he suposed to tell anyone (social security, irs)? Was he suposed to apply for an ID for either of those places for tax puropses? Do we have to report anything to them, or does it get reported when we file our taxes? We are planning on using Turbo Tax for our taxes this year.

I just got a little bit of interest on my savings accounts which is below the reportable amount.
I know this sounds like a goofy question but I have never not earned any money in an entire year so it's a new deal for me.

I worked for this bad person for couple months. By definition, I was an employee, because he scheduled the jobs for me and provided places as well as assistants to me. However, when I received my pay check, I didn't find any deduction or money witheld. He told me that I was an independent contractor.

My wife and I were going to file as Married Filing Seperately on our 2005 Tax Returns. She has alfeady filed and received her refund long ago. I have yet to file. I was able to find out later that our refund would be much greater if we filed jointly. I understand this can be corrected with a 1040x. Do I need to file my 2005 1040 first and then submit a 1040x later, or can I file them both at the same time?

I was given these shares under an ESOP plan over twenty years at different prices. The company was SBC which is now ATT. Some years the share value was $50.00. I left them alone for the last twenty years and reinvested the dividends.

I have formed a LLC on december 16th, 2006 and have few questions and it would be really great if experts can answer please.

1. The LLC has just one owner and its not hiring anybody for some period of time. It says in the instructions of the form SS-4 that we don't need to file a EIN number if its a single owner LLC. the owner's personal SSN/EIN can be used for the tax filing purposes. Is that true?

2. The LLC is formed on december 16th,2006. When is the first year tax due?

3. What is the LLC-12 form?

4. LLC-1 (articles of organization) has been filed with state of california. Do i need any other form as well to complete the filing of LLC?

thanx,
sam
