I just got a little bit of interest on my savings accounts which is below the reportable amount.
I know this sounds like a goofy question but I have never not earned any money in an entire year so it's a new deal for me.

You are below the threshold.

Since you have no earned income, you don't even qualify for EIC.

Each tax year is treated individually. So if you didn't earn enough this year to be required to file, then no, you don't have to.

Well, if you made no money (I mean $0) then there is nothing to report, because you don't have a w-2, right?
