We own an ice cream franshise store and want to put it for sale. Don't know if there's an industry website somewhere where franshise owners can post their store for sale, or if there's a better way to get it out to the franchise community, or franchise agent...

What is a polite way to let a customer know that I'm a professional with 20 years experience at a technical, skilled profession, and it is not necessary to tell me the steps to take to fulfill their requirements/reach their goals. I am happy to provide great customer service and make sure they get what they want and need, but some customers seem to think my job requires no more skill level than making cupcakes from a mix. How can I get the point across in a nice way?

I have been with a company for 4 years. I started off making $4.50 an hour plus tips. If you haven't guessed yet, I work at a restaurant. Tips are based on a percentage of the servers sales. So usually I would make my $4.50, plus about 15 extra with my tips. So over the past couple years I got a few raises. Which brought me up to $6.25 plus my tips. Well we got a new General Manager and he felt that I was making too much money between my hourly salary and my tips. So he said I can either make $6.85, which was after the minimum wage law passed which is $6.85, but I would not get tips, or I could go back down to $4.50 an hour and make tips. I told him I would take the $6.85, but I don't thats fair to cut me off from the tips. Thats how you treat a dedicated employee? Should I contact the labor law union? I really appreciate any input.

Hi, I just got from one of this company that I was applied, that I got a job as a supervisor for 15 peoples, Currently I still working as a staff in one of the 5 star hotel Spa in my area, and been working here for more than 3 years now, and there is no future that I will be promoted as a supervisor cause we already have one. This company that accepted me, have 3 chain small spa in hotels around my area and I have to manage all of them ( only me as a supervisor ). But the new smaller company not pay me much different from my recent company, but I do have career here. Theres bigger responsibility. I want to grow big in this field, maybe in the future as a Manager. But if I stay in this 5star hotel, I will be stuck here forever, but if I choose this company as a supervisor, I am just scared that perhaps one day this company will banckrupt? I dont know much about how the owner manage the people. Please help, maybe any of you have opinion???

Two of my friends want to start an international company based in the USA which will require a couple of million dollars to start.

To give you a brief background about them, they're both Ivy League graduates - very smart people. Both of them make nice six-figure salaries working for big organizations. However, they've never started a business before, never ran a multimillion dollar entity nor do they have a lot of business collateral. They haven't done anything to start the business yet and have no track record of it being profitable (or successful). But, their business plan is rock solid and really good. They have already assembled a terrific team that will help them with their endeavor.

So, what do you think are their chances of receiving funds for their business idea?

I've already approached local businesses and done other odd-job fundraising and so far we are at $700. The businesses that participate will receive advertisement on the t-shirts she wears while at the camp. We are asking for donations of $300 or more as the total cost for the camp is $3500!

I heard that there are grants for children, but am having no luck find these.
