We own an ice cream franshise store and want to put it for sale. Don't know if there's an industry website somewhere where franshise owners can post their store for sale, or if there's a better way to get it out to the franchise community, or franchise agent...

Make sure you check your franchise agreement to see if there are any restrictions on the transferability of the franchise. Assuming there are not, you can contact a business broker who will advertise your company for sales and try and find a good buyer for it. Otherwise, you can advertise it yourself online or in print under the "business opportunities" section of the classifieds.

Check to see if there is a business broker in your area. They will list it for free, and you'll pay a brokerage fee only after it's sold.

Sunbelt can sell your franchise and I don't think you pay until it's sold.
