I use Simple Payment Systems cheaper than PayPal. There are so many complaints and lawsuits with PayPal. You can get free credit card equipment and free check service equipment or free software for selling products online (with a check out cart if you want) of your choice. They beat all quotes from other companies. No annual fees, no start up costs, no application fees. Free training, where they walk you through set up, and 24 hour a day help line.
When you are shopping for taking credit cards all of the things I mentioned above is what you should look for. Also low discount rate and transaction fee. Do not buy or lease equipment or software, because there really is no need to. Do not go by what some rep tells you always read your contract before you sign up. Take care of you and you business! :-)

Are you selling online? If so paypal is the easiest way to take credit card payments. Most people will use it because of it's awesome security policy. Hope that's what you where looking for!

Start with Paypal. If you grow to a large company, check with a local bank and get a merchant account. Usually, you need a year or so in business to qualify (but, not always) for merchant accounts.

Paypal account will get you started.

But really it does depend on several things - are you an internet business, store, etc? More details would help.

It depends on what you are selling and how you are selling it (online, by mail, retail store). If it is a small online business, just try pay pal. Here are some links.
