I have order some goods from a wholesale company. I paid £35 for delivery, I asked them to leave the order in the garden.
I wasn't there when they tried to deliver and they said they need a signature (it doesnt say in their terms and conditions that i have to be there ), now they say that i have to collect the goods ( i cant it's too bulky) or i need to pay £35 for a redelivery.
If i cancel the order they will keep £35 plus £45 for the goods to be returned to them. Can they do that? it doesnt say that in their terms and conditions. so one way or the other i am loosing all my money. and i dont want to pay £70 to get the goods!!! please help.

i am a car dealer. i had a company named 'XYZ' helping me do car loans. i would give XYZ all the customer info and sales contract. they would procure loans for these customers and bring me a check from the lender. checks were made out to my company named ABC. XYZ just before they closed their office deposited 2 of my checks into their own account without ever telling me and dissapeared. later i found out that the bank manager had okayed for these checks to be deposited in the XYZ account. this happened about 17 months ago. what is the statute of limitations for embezzlement? can i sue the bank manager or the bank for not protecting my money since i have an account with the same bank. Can i ask the XYZ guys and the branch manager to pay me that money or i will go to the cops? can i ask them for more than the value of the checks as punitive damages? the bank said to make a police and they will give me the money but i feel they should pay more for their manager's role of screwing me.

My company shares an office with another business. I dropped a plastic object while giving something to their receptionist and chipped the edge of their precious coffee table. It couldn't be repaired and he wants me to replace it. I offered to glue it, turn it around (it's against a wall), but evidently he's afraid clients will come in and say "Oh my god look at that 1/2" chip on the edge of your coffee table, I won't ever do business with you!!!" How vain. Yes I'm responsible, but I'm just an admin. asst. and he's a wealthy business owner - he could buy a $200 table and not notice the money was gone. To think this man invited me to church once - I won't EVER take him up on his offer now. No religious comments please. Oh yeah, christmas just passed, my kids need braces, their birthdays are coming up next month, and my car starter just went out on me. I do have a good relationship with my boss - should I involve him? How do I handle this? I don't want to ruin the business relationship.

I am writing a book call 101 reasons for not opening a restaurant. I am stuck half way and I need reasons why you do not want to open a restaurant.
Besides the normal reason like financial, staff and rent...need more real life situation reasons.

I am a director of a childcare center with 45 staff members. We have staff meetings once a month and always have a lot to discuss. Some staff hardly speak while others seem to dominate the time. They always want to contribute to the discussions and frequently ask for help with problems they have in their classrooms. I want to help all my staff to feel included and to participate in the meetings. Does any one have any ideas of how to encourage everyone to participate.

We live in Ohio. If my husband wants to install remote starts from our home garage, on the side from his regular job. Would he require a business permit if it is our home?
Are they expensive, and at what point are you required to have a business permit to do a service from your home?
Should this prove to work out well, and we decided to actually open a business outside of our home, what happens to that permit? Can they be updated, or will an entirely different permit need to be purchased?
