Does anyone know specifically of any grants or methods of obtaining a grant as financing for a small business start-up? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There are no grants for starting a business.

You can go to the Small Business Administration and this is what the SBA has to say about those looking for grants to start a business: http://www.sba.gov/mostrequesteditems/CON_FAQ2.html

---------------------------------------------
The U.S. Small Business Administration does not offer grants to start or expand small businesses, although it does offer a wide variety of loan programs. While SBA does offer some grant programs, these are generally designed to expand and enhance organizations that provide small business management, technical, or financial assistance. These grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments. For more information, visit our Grants section.

I suggest you check out the small business loans guaranteed by the SBA instead of wasting your time looking for grants. Go to http://www.sba.gov/financing and read about loan eligibility guidelines

When looking for grants, go only to government websites or those whose domain names or URL end in .gov. You stand a higher risk of getting scammed if you go to a .com or .net or .org website that promises to get you grants in exchange for a fee. Grants are free and grant applications are free at Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov

They only give grants to minorities. The white man is doomed. No money for him.
