Small Business - July 2006

I would like to open a homeless shelter in a few years. I don't have any education and experience. Most people don't want to help or can't help. I need to know what resources, organizations, etc. that can help me to get started. I feel strongly to go to school for business mgmt. but I need to know what courses/classes I need to concentrate on. I don't want my business to failed and I also know knowlege is good.

I am also don't have enough money to put aside to start a business. I need help with everything. I guess I need a mentor in all the steps all the way.

I read articles on the internet, read books, it good but I need to talk to someone one on one in person.

Right now, I am about to move to relocated to get a better paid. I want to moved away from the low income area. I know that one of the problem I not getting any help.

Any advice or suggestion will be appreciate. Thanks.

startup cost?
profits after costs?
time commitment needed to run?

With a growing trend in chocolate cafe fanchiases spring up I believe am ahead of the game and stand on the brink of setting off a new and very profitable national concept retail franchiase.

What I am looking for here are mentors or franchise opportunities (preferred), or, if all else fails, books, government resources, and / or websites (in that order.) My proposed business would be in the San Francisco Bay Area (California, United States).

Of course, advice as to why this is (or is not) a good business to be in would appreciated as well.

I own a lodge out in the bush in Botswana, Africa that I want to sell. It is a big plot of 7.5 hectares with traditional bungalows, campsite, reception and traditional bar. However it is not as easy as I thought. I am not in Botswana right now. Do you know a free web-site on which I could advertise the lodge. Your comments are very welcome.
