Franchise. Unfortunately, these types of businesses are ruining all the moms and pops....

They even do personality tests to see what type of business you would be good in. They offer franchises in every field with varying amounts of required investments, usually beginning at $30K.
Before you ask, no I don't work for them. I know a gentleman that does and have spoken with one of his clients. There's no commitment upfront and they will provide you with all the info you need, including names and numbers of people that have opened up franchises so you can speak with them about their experience.

Think of all your interests & ask yourself if any of those could be expanded into a business. Just keep in mind...what's your expertise? What are your interests? What could you imagine yourself doing?
By researching the prospect of starting your own business -- what it entails, what you need to know, helpful hints, etc -- you'll feel better prepared to take that plunge.
I found some book titles that are relevant to your specific question:
* 101 Internet Businesses You Can Start from Home by Susan Sweeney
* The Best Home Businesses for the 21st Century by Paul Edwards
* Selling Online: How to Become a Successful E-Commerce Merchant by Jim Carroll
* I Could Do Anything If I Only Knew What It Was: How to Discover What You Really Want and How to Get It by Barbara Sher
* I Don't Know What I Want, But I Know It's Not This: A Step-by-Step Guide to Finding Gratifying Work by Julie Jansen
* The Best Internet Businesses You Can Start by Marian Betancourt
* The Shoestring Entrepreneur's Guide to Internet Start-Ups by Robert Spiegel
* Making a Living Without a Job : Winning Ways For Creating Work That You Love by Barbara Winter
I also posted some article links in the source box.
Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

A Web Consignment store.
The idea is pretty simple, and the start up is negligible.
As long as you have a garage or other adequate storage. You can take the 100,000 visit local thrift stores and begin a small stock of items, or you can offer the stores the right to post their items on your listing for a nominal cost. The first link in the references gives a great link to management software for it and a better explanation on the process.
If you are technically inclined and want to make a decent process and learn a new hobby. There is always precious metal reclamation. In other words buy broken gold necklaces rings etc, and smelt them down, and cast them as ingots. The next 2 references give details on a sale outlet for ingots, and tools of the trade. There are also some great books on the topic. There is the initial investment, of the equipment, but the great part is you can sell based on market fluctuations, just be sure to buy the junk gold by weight.
These are my 2 suggestions. If you happen to become millionaires from these ideas please don't forget me.

I say you earn some more money or get a loan from the bank and start a McDonalds Franchise!!! Those make GOOD money and the more money you make, the more stores you can open!!
Theres a lady who I know who owns 2 mcdonalds franchises and she is LOADED. And the mcdonalds are in very small towns. Imagine if you opened one in a town of 2 million, or even 200,000 people!

I have a board game I would like to launch. It appeals to a large target market.
Could make 3,000 test copies for under $20,000 and if its a big hit the can make lots more.
