The cost of hiring a professional to create a website varies greatly. 100 dollars and up seems to be the standard.
I would suggest finding someone locally who has references that you can check.
Also see what you get for the money.Just having a web site is cheap, but with no traffic or a reasonable way to update your site to your liking, its a waste of money.
Ask about web hosting fees, and what the costs are for updating your site once you have it up.
My final suggestion is for you to consider creating the website yourself. This is really easier than you think, and the cost is around 199.00 per year. The benefits are that you can put the website up to your tastes and update the site daily if you want.
See the comparison link below to see for yourself.

Good luck with your site.

- What kind of website are you doing?
- Do you want to be able to update it yourself or send the information to a person who will do it for you?
- How much detail do you want? Basic website with Home, About Us, Contact Us, Services, pages.
- Do you want a custom design or do you want a template design?
These are questions you need to think about. Depending on how you answer them will determine the cost.
I've designed several websites and can give you some ideas of the cost of my service or refer you to others depending on what you want.
Contact me at jlmelvin@yahoo.com for more info and I'll give you a quote on a Basic website:
- Domain Name
- One Year of hosting
- Unlimited Email accounts
- Home, About us, Contact, Services pages
- Submit to search engines
You can also use one of the many free accounts online and create your own website.
It all boils down to what you want.

If you ask around, you may find someone who will do it for free. Otherwise, you will probably be asked to pay up to $500 for a small business site, plus the yearly charges from the host itself. Look in the phone book under "web design" and call around for the best price for whatever purpose/options you're looking for.
