We have 5 kids age 3 to 13. We spend a lot of money on rice milk - no cow's milk. We own our own small business with 7 emloyees, but we can only pay ourselves what is reasonable, unless the business is doing very well. My mortgage cost is as low as can be. I would like to see budget numbers for food, clothing, children's programs, recreation, entertainment, etc.

About 10 years ago, my foster sister desperately needed a car. I loaned her $3200. She eventually repaid me $500. Since then, there have been several more "loans" she has forgotten, or simply left unpaid. I've really had enough of being her ATM machine, and would like to reclaim the only loan of which I have any proof - namely, the remaining $2700 for the car.
Is there a statute of limitations on personal loans? The evidence I have is a note written in her hand stating she owed $3200, paid $500, and has a remaining debt of $2700. Each of us has signed it. Is this adequate? Could I also sue her for the court costs?
Additionally, how can I start the case? We don't live in the same area, so I don't know to which district I should go. Have I obligations to her other than adequate notification (cert. letter?)
Please don't suggest I let bygones be bygones. Our relationship has been terminated, and the only loss I regret is that of my time and money.
Thank you for your assistance.

I live in a 1 bd/1 ba apartment complex..everyday I see most of my neighbors at home, drinking, sitting around, with atleast 2+ children...I won't say what race.

What I always wanted to know is exactly how much money does the government give-- for these people to be able to pay for electric bills, car payments, cable/ internet, constant alcohol consumption/ smoking habits, children's food/ clothing...I mean they can survive without working, while some peopole work everyday and barely are able to pay for bills/ daycare, etc..

IIt's the biggest mystery to me..someone enlighten me please.

My house is at the beginning stages of foreclosure. If a relative moves in to help with mortgage payments, by giving so much towards the rent, will the bankruptcy court consider this as income to me.

Hi. I just tried paying via BillMatrix and my payment was declined, but i checked in my bank account and the payment was there as Pending.
Do u know if it's gonna go away? Because I really don't want to get charged twice, since it was declined and I had to pay via phone.

I am just curious as to any opinions as to how my brother is making his living... he is 31, and going to anesthesia school (for the past 12 years he has been in school) and it is just to be an nurse who administers anesthesia. He has two kids, a wife who is a stay at home mom, a car payment, a house payment, and all the house expenses. He is currently unemployed so he has to pay his own insurance... my mother says he has a 'cost of living' loan through the school that is only available to students. Is there really such thing? I just don't see how this is possible to have a family and no income.

So, I lost my license and I need to pay off the fines and fees by tomorrow or else I will have a warrent issued for my arrest. Does anyone know how I can quickly come up with five hundred dollars in one day? I am talking about maybe a bad credit loan that doesn't need to have a checking or savings account, or maybe a payday loan place that doesn't ask for a checking account. If you can help me it will be greatly appreciated. Thank-you.

I owe 10 G's on a car I no longer have. And the crazy thing is now a creditor is calling although I've tried numerous plans to pay them here and there. But its like if I didn't have the money to pay that high car note, how will I have a lump some of $10,000. I really wish i hadn't bought a car so young, sheesh!

I know that the Federal Truth-In-Lending Act defines credit card accounts as open accounts. However, I have found that if the courts in your state have ruled otherwise, then that ruling takes precedence. I am trying to find a ruling that states that the Alabama courts consider credit card accounts written contracts instead of open accounts. I have heard from an attorney in Alabama who stated that it is indeed a written contract but he did not provide any supporting proof. Can anyone out there provide this information or has anyone been through a court trial regarding collection of a credit card debt that was older than the 3 year Statute of Limitations in Alabama?

A so called friend (ex-friend now) of mine added me as a authorized user to their credit card without telling me in 2004. The ex friend racked up a notable balance on the credit card and stopped making payments on it. The credit card co. sold the debt to a collection agency. Then that collection agency sold the debt to a another collection agency and each time it changes hands they harass me for money, lower my credit rating and so on. Its effen ridiculous and I still have no idea how to undo what this turd has done to my credit score. Anyone know what I should or can do?

Is there any bank out there that does not hold deposited checks? I just got charged a $30 fee and I'm ticked off. My account's balance was over $500. I wrote a check for $475... But apparently I didn't have enough money in my account to pay it because they were holding a portion of the check. They paid it anyway and charged me $30. I am so ticked off because I have the money in the account!

I have yet to find a bank/credit union that doesn't do this sort of stuff! I've liked my credit union for the most part.. it's better than others I've had. But this really made me angry.

Anyone care to share their experiences? Let me know if you have found a bank who doesn't pull this crap.

I know it's for their protection, etc, etc, etc. but geez.. If I rob them of some money, they can always sue me to get it back!
