someone once told me that I should keep them especially if I have been a long time cutomer, and just not use them. My credit report will get worse if I close the accounts. is this true?

I have just over $3,000 owed to a credit card that went to collections. I was wondering if they are more likely to reduce the amount of debt that you owe, if you agree to pay in one lump sum. I'd also like to negotiate payment for the item to be stricken from my credit report. How likely are they to comply with my request?

I am going to be starting my first job in a month as a teacher getting paid about 30000, and my husband is in the military getting paid about 35000!
So, together we only make about 65000-70000 a year.
Im 21 and hes 24.
Anyways.....I DO NOT want to be a teacher my entire life....I actually want to be a school counselor or teach at a community college...which then I will get paid about 50000, but I NEED expirience first!
So, is this a really CRAPPY SALARY?

Somehow a debt collector got my parents phone number and have been calling them. Isn't that an invasion of privacy? I don't want these people harassing my aging parents.

I have a buyer interested in purchasing my car. He is from Canada and wants to pay by a bank draft, however I am not sure of how a bank draft works and whether I will definately recieve my money. I am also concerned about the length of time it will take for the money to be deposited into my account. Is a bank draft safe? Am I going to get my money? HELP!!!

I have moved to Ks and in the downtown area I came upon some beautiful home in the $250,000 to $500,000 dollar ranges. Then I rounded the corner and I swear...this house was so ragaddy that only thing it was good for was using drugs in. Yea, people had the nerve to be on the outside of it just smoking and have a good ol time. How do you pull that off? The only thing I can think of is tax break...

when i asked him what he would do if i said no he said he could not understand why i would not "help him out" and would have to reconsider our relationship as he would do it for me.Now i could do this but feel funny him asking me and not at all happy with his anwser.This debt is not from a medical problem but from his last divorce and money trying to "wine and dine" the old gf he left his wife for(not me)

I'd notice that my savings is going,going,GONE!!!!! I asked a question a few days ago concerning wether the car registration document could be in my name if the car finance was in my husbands name, generally most people thought it wouldnt be allowed. I wondered if it would apply to a straightforward bank loan, you can say its for a car or you can say its for house improvemants etc..but if you were honest and said it was for a car, would the reg doc have to be in my hubbys name then also?

Hi, I'm starting my new job as a bank teller for a Wells Fargo after I do the week traing I'll be startng at my branch. I am trying to buy a house and expect to close in 45 days. My money is tight due to down payment, closing costs, moving costs, etc. I am thinking of getting a forbearance on my student loan so I save some money but I don't want to do it if it will lessen my credit score and jeopardize my mortgage approval.

I'm 10. Don't have any idea for making money by August 23. I need $200.00. I already have like $110.00. Every week I get $10.00. By September 9 I would have enough but I want to get $200.00 in a shorter time. The reason why I want $200.00 is so I could get an electric bass. I just cleaned up the kitchen so then I think I should get more than 10 from it. My dad wants to get me an electric bass for christmas but thats in 5 months. I've sold cookies before but I got in trouble from it. I'll try to get paid from mowing my yard. Need more ideas please!
